I. History

-Questions to consider: How was the application developed? How does the application work? Are there any ways to use this application alongside others?

-(Kellie)- An item you enter in to your todo list that you want to complete every week is called a chore.

-(Kellie)- To add a chore to your todo list, you go into the List tab and then you can add in a chore to do Today, Tomorrow, or Next Week.  To add it, type in your chore and press “Do It.”

Do.Oh is basically a to do list.  You can put things that you want to complete such as take out the trash.  After inserting this to do item you can snooze it if you do not want to complete the chore at the time it comes up.  There is also a journal on this web page. Sonia Ritchie

You can use Do.Oh on your iphone.  The logo looks like an emoticon.  This makes it easier to see your to do list.  You can also use Do.Oh on Facebook or Twitter.  Sonia Ritchie

<Kayla- This application was developed in 2006 and has not been updated since then, but the creators of do.oh are thinking about eventually upgrading it with more simple features in the near future.

Steve- Under the chore tab, it reminds you what chore you want to complete and at what time.

Steve- Do.oh was launched in 2006 and has been running since then without updates.

II. How "Application Title" Relates to other Applications

-Questions to consider: How does this application compare to the competitors? What are some unique uses of this specific application?

-(Kellie)- This application does not include a calendar system like other applications.  It is in a very primitive form and just has a list that you check off as you go.  You can however, connect it with a calendar system that you have on another website as a link.

Something unique about this is that this application is not complicated.  You do not have to add tags or friends.  You also do not have confusing categories and lists.  The site is very simple and easy to use. Sonia Ritchie

<Kayla- A unique use of this application is that once you store an item to do for the day on the to do list, you can have it show up every time on that day instead of trying to store it repeatedly every time on those days. Like if it were a chore to do on Thursday and you want it listed on your to do list every Thursday, you can store it so it will show up every Thursday so you don't forget.

<Kayla- Apparently do.oh can ask you random questions throughout the day that takes polls on whether you prefer something else over another.

Steve- Do.oh didn't want to be like every other task manager created. It didn't want to spend more time on managing the task then actually doing it. This made them create the tagline "Now with fewer features".

III. Real World Application

-This section will include 3 Lesson Plans for each Elementary, Secondary, and Post Secondary levels. One out of the three needs to be STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math) related.

-An additional section under this heading will provide information about how this application can be used in a Business/Industry Setting.

IV. Demonstration of Educational Value

Ryan O'Dell.  Do.Oh allows several people to use one user name and password at once. This will allow students to be able to use one account and view necessary to do lists.

Ryan O'Dell.  If assignments need to be completed each monday of every week (or any other day) a chore can be created which shows on the to do list each week and on the correct day. This allows it to only be inserted once.

Ryan O'Dell.  Do.Oh also allows the user to create a task organizer for students. The only difficulty is that the students will be using one account and it will be difficult as each student can change the account. This might also be a benifit in the long run as a student could complete an acctivity and post a new one for other students to complete.

V. How "Application Name" is used Internationally?

-Provide examples and/or information about how this application can be used in countries outside of the United States.

Eda--How could this application be used in other countries?

Do. Oh is not widely used in Turkey because Do. Oh is English based application and it does not offer Turkish language option. In my opinion, since international people cannot put Do. Oh in their languages, they may prefer to use other similar applications which can be changed to their own language. However, it is not mean that Do. Oh cannot be used internationally; in contrast, it could be great tool for some people in our country. For instance, university students and business people can use this application because the language barrier does not prevent them while they are using Do. Oh. They can use this application in order to create a to-do list, and then, to organize their school or business life.

There is one feature of using this application that makes Do. Oh easy to use internationally. The feature is that users can add this application to their smart phones and they can take it with them anywhere.

In my opinion, people, who know basic English, can use Do. Oh around the world because this application is very simple and easy to use.

Are there unique features of the application that may be more relevant to those outside of the US?

There is no unique feature of Do. Oh that may be more relevant to Turkey or other countries outside of the US. In my opinion, in order to reach everyone around the world, this application may let people to use Do. Oh in different languages.

How could this application be used in other countries?

Do.oh is an application not used in our country. Its language is the reason why it is not used, because the application does not provide a different and understandable language for the ones whose mother tongue is not English. However, that does not mean that this application can never be used in these kinds of countries. Instead, since its usage is easy and not complicated as similar sites, it is preferable for the foreign students and business people. We say especially students and business people, because those are the ones who do not have language problem. They can easily use the application for their school and business life to organize their lives. We learned about the application through the project we are all in and we think this application, which has a very simple usage and away from much confusion, can be used for people who know English even the beginner level around the world.

Are there unique features of the application that may be more relevant to those outside of the US?

There is not a unique features of the application for other countries; that is why we think to increase the number of users and reach more people, it needs to develop and provide alternative languages.
