3. How Dropvine Relates to other Applications">3. How Dropvine Relates to other Applications

Dropvine is similar to other applications such as Facebook. Facebook is used for networking, keeping in touch with friends, and now several other applications have been added. With dropvine you are able to share links between friends. On facebook they allow web link sharing and posting on other people’s facebooks. Both applications share information and links between friends.4 Link Market is another application similar to Dropvine. It has been around since 2003. Link Market grew from a small link exchange website to a giant link exchange market place. Webmasters from around the world found and made partnerships with other webmasters through link exchange.5 StumbleUpon allows people to add friends to their site and share links, like Dropvine. “The basic idea of each social link community is that people share their discovered links with others via the Internet. Actually it’s only allowed to send those links to your social community friends. Having a lot of friends with the same interest like yourself is something very valuable to generate a lot of traffic to your website or weblog.”6

6. Demonstration of Educational Value">6. Demonstration of Educational Value

Dropvine is a helpful tool that can send links directly to friends. When a person may discover content that a friend will be interested in they can send the link right through Dropvine.13 The educational value here is that, if for example, a person needs specific information on a certain topic, friends can help and send important research links through Dropvine. Dropvine is a valuable educational tool because the basic use of the program is to share links and information with friends. Dropvine will also give users a great web experience.14 The program allows for commenting on links, and therefore friends can either thank you for the great information you have passed along, or they can also let you know  the link you have sent is not of good use for them.15 Simple tools that can help extend the surf and search capabilities of Firefox and Explorer web browsers are bookmarklets. The Dropvine bookmarklets allows quick sending of a current page you are viewing. For example: Youtube16

When you send a link to someone through Dropvine, it shows up in their Dropvine inbox and their email inbox, so they don't have to be logged on to Dropvine to view it.17 If your friends don't have a Dropvine account, they will still receive the links you send them.  Their Dropvine inbox gets created automatically for them.18

7. How Dropvine is used Internationally">7. How Dropvine is used Internationally

Dropvine can be just as useful internationally as it is locally.  Sharing information with international partners can be quick and painless.  As long as there is an internet connection, you can easily share links back and forth using Dropvine.  Links can also be sent to multiple partners in different locations at the same time.  It's just one more way that Dropvine makes sharing links a simple process.

    Comment here!

  2. Unknown User (lsandov)

hey, i think the pictures shoud be bigger, their hard to read. Also the lesson plans under the doc file do not open. Idk if its just my home computer, but i also tried it at an Itap comp, and they didnt work either. Other than that, everything looks great!

    1. Unknown User (nspegal)

The documents should be fixed. And the pictures at the top can be clicked to viewed better. Should I label that they can click it?

And I also edited more stuffs.

  3. Unknown User (lsandov)

yeah you should definitel label that they can click the pics...and i thought we needed pictures with arrows showing people how to use the app?

    1. Unknown User (nspegal)

I would like to think it's straight forward once you look at it... After thinking about it, I'm afraid of insulting peoples' intelligence with the arrows. It seems rather obnoxious. What do you think?

      And label I shall!

    2. Unknown User (nspegal)

Also, how does that photo look in the real-world application section? And I'll be shooting out an email here soon asking everyone to add a description to the lesson plans they made. Apparently that's required.

Feel free to just throw the text down below the link of your lesson plans, or something. I can take care of any prettying that may be necessary.

  4. Unknown User (schmitme)

This site is really coming together.  I think that this current methods of displaying the screen shots are our best option.

Nick, if there is anything else you would like me to maybe do to enhance the site let me know... its been a while but i may still have some HTML tricks up my sleeve.

    1. Unknown User (nspegal)

I think we're okay. Try skimming, make sure the grammar is okay and that it flows alright. I don't think anything has been changed in that sense, but it doesn't hurt to check and have a second opinion.

I totally had an OCD night and just went crazy on the page, getting a lot done. (big grin) Works out for everyone.

      1. Unknown User (nspegal)

And as always, if you have an idea to make things look better, go for it. If you get it to work, make a comment and we'll all share our thoughts about it.

  5. Unknown User (lsandov)

he on the table of contents is there anyway tha the 3.1 can be aligned with the other numbers? That is really bothering me LOL

    1. Unknown User (nspegal)

That could be easily done. But I kind of thought it should be indented because it's a sub section of section three. If that makes sense?

  6. Unknown User (lsandov)

yeah ur right, well shouldnt the lesson plans be under the educational value? I think that would be a lot better and we can get rid of the 3.1 section? Idk wat do u think?

    1. Unknown User (nspegal)

The lesson plans have to be in the Real-World Application section for some unknown, strange reason. But even if we moved it to another section, I'd still like to have the anchor. So it'd just be like 4.1 or something.

      1. Unknown User (nspegal)

Okay, how about that? How does the table of contents look now?

  7. Unknown User (lsandov)

    looks good, i think.
