Brief Project Description:

This project was developed for the following reasons:

  • To get students to examine, explore, and investigate various types of Web 2.0 technologies, as well as discover ways to use those tools to enhance teaching and learning.
  • To have students work on a real-world, team-based problem where they need to develop skills of communication and cooperation in order to create and deliver the needed wiki repository outcome.
  • To have students gain a more global perspective, by including team members from universities around the world.
  • To develop a practical tool that helps anyone at any time and location review, compare, and select effective Web 2.0 tools.

  1. Hey, guys! My name's Hope McGowen. I'll be the Project Manager for our group throughout the project. I think it would be a good idea if we all posted something about ourselves to get to know each other a little better! This is my third year at Purdue... I started out in Engineering, then switched to Business Management, and switched again this semester to English Education! I love it here, and I live in an apartment a couple minutes from campus, so I'm always close by if you need me.  If you have a camera built into your computer, take a picture and post it so we know who you are! I even used our group's Web 2.0 technology, PicJuice- an online photo editor, to get a sense of what we'll be working with in the next couple of weeks... You should try it, too!

  2. Unknown User (bangle)

Hi everyone! My name is Brooke Angle. I graduated from the small school of Lewis Cass High School in Walton, Indiana. Most people have not heard of it, but if you have heard of Kokomo or Logansport, it is around there. I am freshman this year and am currently undecided. Although I plan on getting into the college of education very soon. I want to teach elementary students, mainly younger students like kindergarten to second grade. That is a little bit about me and I will try to get a picture on here soon. :)

Hi!  My name is Casey Spelman.  I am from Carmel, IN, and am a freshman at Purdue.  I'm technically a Management major right now looking to CODO into Elementary Education and either double-major or minor in Speech Pathology.  I'm pretty sure I want to be an elementary school teacher, but would also love to be a speech therapist for toddlers.  I figured trying to get a degree in both areas couldn't hurt!

  4. Unknown User (nramos)

Hey~my name is Neysette Ramos. This is my third semester here as a transfer student from Puerto Rico. I have been enjoying life in the Midwest so far. I am majoring in Elementary Education and Spanish with future plans of becoming a bilingual teacher. I also speak a bit of Portuguese. I love traveling and anything that has to do with art. I hope that someday I can be part of many children's life in a positive way and enduring. I will be downloading a picjuice edited personal picture up soon :)

  6. Unknown User (sberger)

Hey, I'm Sam Berger. I am from Fort Wayne, IN. I went to R. Nelson Snider High School ages ago. This is my third year at Purdue. I started out in Genetics with a focus on Pre-Medicine for Genetic Counseling, MD. I also for the past two summers did an internship with a Genetic Counselor in Fort Wayne, and I realized that it was not for me. So I am now trying education classes and hopefully ending up in Speech Pathology with a focus in the school system. I am in Zeta Tau Alpha and live there currently. I am also in the PCDC used to be PRDCO. The Purdue Contemporary Dance Company. I have been doing this since my freshman year. I was also the director of a student ran dance performance through the PAO liberal arts building. So that is a little about me!
