Brief Project Description:

This project was developed for the following reasons:

  • To get students to examine, explore, and investigate various types of Web 2.0 technologies, as well as discover ways to use those tools to enhance teaching and learning.
  • To have students work on a real-world, team-based problem where they need to develop skills of communication and cooperation in order to create and deliver the needed wiki repository outcome.
  • To have students gain a more global perspective, by including team members from universities around the world.
  • To develop a practical tool that helps anyone at any time and location review, compare, and select effective Web 2.0 tools.

Group Member Introductions:

Hello all! I am going to be your project manager for duration of our creation process. I'm excited to get this project underway, but I think first we need to get to know a little bit about one another, and, of course, a little more about how to use this site to create our end product.

I am Peggy Nifong; you can contact me any time, day or night, at my e-mail: pnifong@purdue.edu, or by phone (text capable): 574.344.3368 with questions or concerns that need attention. I am a freshman in the College of Engineering, for now, but I am working on CODOing into Elementary Education. My end goal it to teach third grade in California; I'm a product from the dear Bourbon, Indiana and am ready to get out of this state! I live off-campus, and I am going to Missouri to get a puppy during spring break!! (Woot*Woot)

To end on a more administrative note,

    • Be thinking about what role you would best fit for this project:
      • ie) Researcher, Text Writer, Code Writer, etc. (These are the only ones I can remember off the top of my head)
    • Create a Plancast account (It's free and easy!)
    • Add a comment about yourself!
      • Hint: To add a comment, be sure you Log In which is on the bottom right half part of this page using your Purdue Career Account Log In and Password.
      • Feel free to include a photo, if you can, I am having difficulties..
    • If we get greater than a 66/70 on this project we will not have to take the final exam, so be prepared to give this project attention.
      • I believe our final exam is on Friday or Saturday, but don't quote me. So... If you want to free up finals week, here is an easy way to do so!

Instead of attempting to add a photograph within the text, try to edit your profile. You can do this through a link in the same area as you clicked to login. Under 'Your Account' you can update your status, look at your profile, adjust your e-mail settings, see recent activity, and so on. I suggest spending the next week 'playing' on here so you'll be prepared to jump in to the work.
