Hi guys my name is Kalie Thompson and I’m your project manager. Out page is called Kaltura, so if you would like to go to the site we will be making a wiki chapter about here is it: http://corp.kaltura.com/.
All of you should have my email, because I emailed all of you to remind you to do your three research comments. Here are examples of research we need: history (founders, when it was founded, where its headquarters are), purpose, how it works, how it is related to other applications, how it’s used in education, where it’s used, and international aspects. I got all of these examples by going to an old wiki chapter someone made. To see it go to http://wiki.itap.purdue.edu then go to the last space link called Web 2.0 Tools - New Possibilities for Teaching and Learning, then under the INSITE headline click to see old home pages and there are all of them, I normally look at the group 30 project (cause we are group 30!) called bubbl.us.
So for my first research I looked up “What Kaltura is about” which is: “Kaltura allows publishers of all sizes to easily, quickly, and cost effectively enhance their web site with video and interactive rich-media functionalities, including video management, searching, uploading, importing, editing, annotating, remixing, sharing, and advertising.
Unlike the alternative proprietary solutions, Kaltura’s platform is completely flexible, extendible and free! Web publishers, Value-Added-Resellers, and Integrators use our software development kit to customize a unique rich-media experience that fits their specific purposes, and seamlessly integrates with many popular content management systems. Moreover, Kaltura’s reference implementations and growing library of applications, extensions and plug-ins allow publishers to select off the shelf solutions for rapid self-serve deployments that can be fully enabled within minutes.”
I will post another research soon!
