I. History

-Questions to consider: How was the application developed? How does the application work? Are there any ways to use this application alongside others?

<Andrea---Wolfram Alpha is an answer engine rather than a search engine. Stephen Wolfram himself calls it a "computational knowledge engine". This means that it does not simply return documents like Google, nor is it a giant database like Wikipedia. Rather, it actually computes the answers to a wide variety of questions. It also goes beyond simply answering questions and helps users explore knowledge, data, and relationships between things. - Found at>

<Andrea---Wolfram Alpha contains domains such as science, technology, geography, weather, cooking, business, travel, people, music, and more, and can generate answers to queries in any of these subject areas. Found at>

<Andrea---Wolfram Alpha does not answer natural language questions, so questions must be asked in a particular syntax, or various forms of abbreviated notation. This requires a little bit of learning on the user’s end. Found at>

Victoria- WolframAlpha does anything from working out calculations to providing the time for different locations all over the world. It makes it simple to find information on countires and their populations, weather updates, and currency exchange rates

Victoria- WolframAlpha does all mathematic functions from simple addition problems to algebra and calculus problems.

Victoria- WolframAlpha is a program thats aims to make systematic knowledge available immediately to everyone via the computer. It is composed of a collection of all data, models and alogorithms, making it possible to compute anything that can be computed -Found at

Victoria- WolframAlpha contains more than 50,000 algorithms and models, more than 10 trillion pieces of data and linguistic capabilities for over1000 domains- Found at

Victoria- WolframAlpha is just the beginning. There are future plans to expand all areas of WolframAlpha, deepening all models data and research capabilities.WolframAlpha is only possible nowadays due to the fact that we now have computers that are able to function as such speeds and support the capabilites of a program such as this - Found at

<Gabrielle --- Wolfram|Alpha's world-class team draws from many fields and disciplines, and has unique access to experts across the globe. About section>

<Gabrielle -- In creating Wolfram|Alpha, Wolfram Research found a way to manipulate data in users' questions and display results in new, creative ways. And because it's coming from a well-known and reliable source, people perked up their ears and listened when Stephen Wolfram made his announcement. >

II. How "Application Title" Relates to other Applications

-Questions to consider: How does this application compare to the competitors? What are some unique uses of this specific application?

III. Real World Application

-This section will include 3 Lesson Plans for each Elementary, Secondary, and Post Secondary levels. One out of the three needs to be STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math) related.

-An additional section under this heading will provide information about how this application can be used in a Business/Industry Setting.

(Tyler) Wolfram|Alpha could be used to automatically generate problem sets for students, and then research those

<Tyler Wolfram|Alpha could compute statistics about your favorite team and there not just the history of the two teams - but the history of the location of the game, the weather, the season so far>>

<Tyler You can use Wolfram Alpha to figure out the probabilty of getting a full house on a poker hand.>

IV. Demonstration of Educational Value
