<INSERT RESEARCH POSTS>

Zazna was created in Poland by Hypercontext (http://www.zazna.com/contact/form.html). To use Zazna, you must first sign up for an account.  The account is free, however, it does require an active email address for registration purposes. To create a bookmark with Zazna, you need to use a certain tool provided by Zazna. In Mozilla Firefox, this tool takes the form of a Firefox Extension.  In other web browsers, such as Google Chrome and Apple Safari, this tool is a bookmarklet (http://www.zazna.com). Zazna is available in two languages, English and Polish. Submissions are still a mix of Polish or English regardless of which setting a user choose (http://www.zazna.com/all_selections.html?s=popular&q=&t=). On Zazna you have an account that you can personalize and add a picture and info about yourself. Other users can see your posts and leave comments on the selected content. Zazna allows users to link, store and bookmark fragments of web pages. The main advantage of Zazna is that it lets users’ pinpoint important part of text and sends it or store without losing its original content. A special link leads to the very same page but with previously chosen fragment still highlighted. Zazna.com also stores all fragments of websites (http://www.crunchbase.com/company/hypercontext). What makes Zazna so unique is that it aims to become related selections finding tool while providing bookmarking services. One will be able to find content matching given webpage fragment or even get personal recommendations on that. In due time, Zazna aims to help users find related content, showing them relevant selections on other websites by learning from what they have saved so far Web 2.0 social networking sites such as Google, Open ID, Facebook, or Twitter.  If accounts are linked, they may be identified by other Zazna users to promote social networking on other sites (http://www.zazna.com/account/identifiers,edit.html). And another upcoming feature will be letting anybody import his already existing bookmarks from websites like Delicious, Reddit and so on. That will make for a higher chance of presenting users with content appertaining to them. Zazna users may link their accounts to other sites (http://www.killerstartups.com/Web-App-Tools/zazna-com-bookmark-fragments-of-pages-share-them#ixzz0jPJ7Nr7V).

   In Sweden Zazna is relatively unknown, probably due to lack of advertisement and its recent development. The restricted language support should not be a problem for Swedish users, as Swedes are generally quite proficient in English.

   But if Zazna were to become more recognized in Sweden, its uses would be the same as in the US. Privately it would be used to highlight funny sections of web pages when sent between friends, at work (especially among teachers) it would be used to pass relevant information, such as new laws, educational courses, important events etc. When writing a piece of work that uses references (e.g. at school), Zazna could be used to make the references more precise and easier to check up.

    In a nutshell, it empowers anybody to bookmark online content and share it with whomever he likes. The difference, though, is that the user is able to bookmark just a fragment of the page and put it across instead of highlighting the whole page.

    In due time, Zazna aims to help users find related content, showing them relevant selections on other websites by learning from what they have saved so far. And another upcoming feature will be letting anybody import his already existing bookmarks from websites like Delicious, Reddit and so on. That will make for a higher chance of presenting users with content appertaining to them.

    Zazna hopes to stand for a resource that enables people to pass and transmit the context, so everyone can feel exactly what they meant to begin with. In due time, Zazna aims to help users find related content, showing them relevant selections on other websites by learning from what they have saved so far. And another upcoming feature will be letting anybody import their already existing bookmarks from websites like Delicious, Reddit and so on. What makes Zazna so unique is that it aims to become related selections finding tool while providing bookmarking services. One will be able to find content matching given webpage fragment or even get personal recommendations on that. This is like StumbleUpon - just for the relevant content, not whole websites or addresses.

    When using the bookmarklet, as I have tested in Google Chrome, you are able to email your selected section of text.  Additionally, you can share your bookmarked section via FaceBook, MySpace, Twitter, Digg, Google, Delicious, Reddit, or StumbleUpon.

    The Firefox extension for Zazna, which is a toolbar, is probably the most powerful tool for using Zazna, as "It integrates saving selections, searching Zazna, commenting user's selections with Firefox."

    The Zazna Toolbar was last updated Nov. 12 2009.

    There is a "feedback" option on the right hand side of the webpage that can be clicked at any time. This bar is handy for reporting any problems that one might encounter with Zazna. It also gives you the option to say something you like about the site or any ideas you have that would make it better.

    Also on the Zazna site, there is a section called "zazna picks" that contains a list of many websites that have been highlighted. When one is selected, the viewer is lead to a page just like one that is created using the zazna bookmarking. Viewers may leave comments, etc.
