Blackboard Learn On Demand Tutorials

This is the same content you will find at Blackboard's On Demand website, but organized on a single page, by category, to make searching easier. All tutorials refer to Blackboard Learn version 9.1, but because the product is very customizable, your system may look different from the examples. Video tutorials have a video camera icon. Printable tutorials have a PDF icon. All videos open in a new window. Depending on the speed of your internet connection, videos may take a while to load. Most videos are under three minutes in length. Videos require the free Flash plug-in. PDFs require the free Adobe Reader. Our thanks to Northern Arizona University for compiling this list.

For Students

Supported Browsers
  • Mozilla Firefox 4.0 is Certified with Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Mac OSX 10.6, although we have found issues with Firefox Mac users being unable to view all features in Blackboard. Mozilla Firefox 3.5 will no longer be supported.
  • We recommend all Mac users utilize Google Chrome as their web browser when using Blackboard. Google Chrome 10.0.648 is certified on Windows 7 and Mac OSX 10.6.
  • Internet Explorer 9 is Certified on Windows 7 and Windows Vista.  Consequently, Internet Explorer 7 is no longer supported.

Profile of current courses in Blackboard 9 Pilot

  • Courses in the pilot are not cross-listed.
  • Final grades must be submitted manually in myPurdue, not pushed from Blackboard Learn.
  • Since this is a pilot, patience will be needed by faculty and students in case of potential bumps in the road; however, you will be provided with one-on-one support to help alleviate any complications that arise.
