Purdue’s College of Science has unified your IT Support experience and created one team to help you with all of your needs. 

We are comprised of three groups of IT support professionals dedicated to supporting our Faculty, Staff and Graduate Students throughout the College of Science.  We also have a dedicated Academic Site Specialist for each department to assist with the higher level, more research and/or teaching and learning needs specific to their respective department.

Our three Central Groups are comprised of the following:

  • Microsoft Windows Desktop setup & support
  • Application installations & support
  • Computer Error support
  • Printing support
  • General How-To Support
  • Desktop Replacement
  • Desktop Relocation
  • Windows File Server Support
  • Group Authentication and Access 
  • Level 1 & 2 Phone support via helpline

Linux/ Unix / MAC Administration Support:  Manager, Steven Plite

  • Support for your Linux/Unix systems (RH, Ubuntu, ...)
  • Linux, Solaris, and BSD server and desktop installation and administration
  • OS X server and desktop and iOS device installation and administration
  • Linux and OS X laptop installation and configuration
  • Unix backups and account management
  • System monitoring and notifications
  • Custom software builds and infrastructure to support instruction and research

Web / Database Administration Support:  Manager, Eric Hassenplug

  • Departmental websites support and maintenance
  • Custom website configuration and setup for Faculty or Lab Groups
  • Custom web application/database development
  • Custom web application support
